Here are some players that could be worth picking up in your fantasy football league heading into Week 7 of the 2010 NFL season:

Deion Branch, Wide Receiver, New England Patriots: Branch was great in his return to New England, hauling in nine passes for 98 yards and a score and showing that his chemistry with Tom Brady is still there. I’m not sure if he’s going to produce at that level every week, but he seems to be the best non-Welker option in the passing game. Brandon Tate believers are cringing right now.

Christopher Ivory, Running Back, New Orleans Saints: Ivory had a huge game against Tampa, rushing for more than 150 yards, but I’m not so sure about his long-term value. If Reggie Bush and/or Pierre Thomas miss another game, Ivory could be worth a flex play, but he’s still going to be the number three back on the depth chart as soon as both of those guys return.

Kevin Kolb, Quarterback, Philadelphia Eagles: Here we go again. The Eagles could be back in quarterback controversy mode with Kolb posting two wins in his last two games, one of which came against a very good Falcons team. Kolb was great against Atlanta, eclipsing the 300-yard mark and tossing three touchdowns. He’s a fantasy starter while Michael Vick is out, and could still be once Vick returns if Andy Reid sticks with him.

Davone Bess, Wide Receiver, Miami Dolphins: Bess is extremely underrated and is especially valuable in PPR leagues. He’s had four solid-to-good weeks and one no-show, but Chad Henne seems to like him. With 19 receptions in his last three games, as well as two touchdowns, Bess has to be owned in all leagues.

Danario Alexander, Wide Receiver, St. Louis Rams: Alexander could be in line to step in as the Rams’ number one wideout with Mark Clayton out for the year. Alexander is a big target and had a nice touchdown play in Week 6. If Sam Bradford decides to throw the ball his way, he should be worth owning.

Matthew Stafford, Quarterback, Detroit Lions: Stafford will be back in Week 8 after the Lions’ bye. Those that want to beat the rush to pick him up should do it this week. With Stafford at the helm, the Detroit offense is one that could really sell NFL tickets.

Chester Taylor, Running Back, Minnesota Vikings: Matt Forte had one big week, but he’s been pretty bad aside from that. Taylor could be in line for more work soon.

Mike Thomas, Wide Receiver, Jacksonville Jaguars: Thomas is similar to Davone Bess, as he’s a small guy that is most valuable in PPR leagues. Trent Edwards seemed to like going to Thomas, so the wideout could be additionally valuable if David Garrard misses any time.

Heath Miller, Tight End, Pittsburgh Steelers: Miller’s value goes up because Big Ben is back, evidenced by the tight end’s first touchdown of the season in Week 6.

Matt Cassel, Quarterback, Kansas City Chiefs: Cassel is starting to come on a bit over the last few weeks and could be worth a backup spot on your roster. He’s still hit or miss right now, but his 7:3 TD to INT ratio is encouraging.
