Here are the Top 10 teams in the National Football League as I see them heading into Week 7 of the 2010 season:

1. Pittsburgh Steelers: The Pittsburgh offense looked good with Big Ben back at the helm, albeit against the Browns. Roethlisberger settled down as the game went on, throwing three touchdown passes in the contest. The Steelers showed they’re still dedicated to the run, though, calling Rashard Mendenhall’s name early and often. They have to be considered the best team in the league right now thanks to their balance.

2. New York Jets: The Jets needed a fourth quarter comeback to take down the Broncos in Week 6, but they made it happen. The team was able to overcome some mistakes by Mark Sanchez, which is a good sign. The defense is not what it was last season, but the offense is better.

3. New England Patriots: The Patriots have to be riding high coming off a win against a Baltimore team that a lot of people thought was the best in the league last week. Deion Branch might help people forget about Randy Moss as this offense now resembles the New England attacks of the early 2000s.

4. Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens can’t be too upset with their loss in New England; they’re still one of the elite teams in the AFC. Their passing game hasn’t quite gotten going the way a lot of people thought it would before the season started, but there’s still time to iron out the kinks.

5. Indianapolis Colts: The Colts have not been blowing teams out in 2010, but they’ve still been winning. The run defense is bound to catch up with them in the postseason, though, if they don’t fix it.

6. Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons got manhandled by the Eagles, but I still think they’re a good bet for the postseason and could still be the favorite in the NFC South. Matt Ryan needs to be more consistent and the team would be wise to get backup running back Jason Snelling a bit more involved in order to save Michael Turner’s legs.

7. New Orleans Saints: The Saints finally looked dominant in their win over the Bucs in Week 6. The team should be getting both Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush back soon, which could make a world of difference, as the offense once again becomes one that sells loads of NFL tickets.

8. New York Giants: I still think the Giants are the best team in the NFC East right now, but the Eagles are gaining. The New York defense has me believing in this team.

9. Philadelphia Eagles: We might be headed back to a quarterback controversy in Philadelphia if Kevin Kolb keeps winning. It’s going to be an extremely tough decision for Andy Reid once Michael Vick is healthy, as Kolb was fantastic against a good Falcons team.

10. Houston Texans: The Texans can’t stop anyone’s passing game, which could ultimately result in their demise, but their offense is good enough to outscore most teams. They haven’t realized their full offensive potential yet, which is rather scary.
